Dia de ação de graça
The first Thanksgiving Day in New England were festivals of thanksgiving to God in thanks to good harvests per year. For this reason, the Day of Thanksgiving is celebrated in the autumn after the harvest has been collected and is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November.
The first was held in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the settlers who founded the village in 1620.After a poor harvest and winter, the colonists had a good corn harvest in the summer of 1621. By order of the governor of the town, in honor of this achievement compared to previous years, a festival was scheduled in early fall of 1621. The men of Plymouth killed ducks and turkeys. Other foods that were part of the menu were fish and corn. About ninety Indians also participated in the festival. Everyone ate outdoors at large tables.
In Brazil, President Gaspar Dutra created the National Day of Thanksgiving, through law 781 of August 17, 1949, at the suggestion of Ambassador Nabuco, excited about the celebrations that seen in 1909, in St. Patrick's Cathedral, as ambassador to Washington. In 1966, Law 5110 established the celebration of Thanksgiving would take place on the fourth Thursday of novembro.Esta date is celebrated by many families of American origin, by some Christian churches such as Presbyterian, Methodist confessional universities and courses of English.

dress up in scary costumes, especially the children who go from house to house
through the streets, where they speak "trick or treating" and that
ends the night halloween the kids come home with bags full of goloseimas.
People also decorate their homes with spooky objects such as skulls, bones
decorated pumpkins decorated among others.
The halloween in Brazil is called Halloween,
but not very celebrated for the halloween is not our tradition, but if
